It is WILD to me how many users on here have had their diaries since the early 2000s. I'm included in that group as I started mine in 2003. We obviously all love this site and are attached to it to keep it going for this long. I do constantly worry about the site disappearing, though...I mean, the look of the site has not been updated since I joined! I think a few small things have been updated here and there over the years, but this site has largely remained unchanged since it was created. When was it created, by the way? I wonder who has the oldest diary on here. I saw one that was created in 2001. I've tried signing up for a paid membership just to keep the place running, but the link doesn't work. I emailed the help desk and got no response. Who is even running this site, anyway? Ok, "Andrew", but where is he and what does he do?
Enough thoughts about this website for now. I 100% feel better than I did when I last wrote. I told you it was hormones. Nick and I had a nice weekend. We had a very busy Saturday. We went and picked up Nick's new glasses and he says he can see so much better now. You should have seen him when he first put them on - he was just looking around and taking everything in because he truly could see so much better. I hope this encourages him to go to the eye doctor a little more often than every 5 years lol.
After getting his glasses, we went to a nearby brewery and hung out for a bit. I actually drank BEER this time instead of wine. I absolutely prefer wine, but at this particular brewery, all wine was $10 a glass, so I did the economical thing and drank beer instead and I actually enjoyed the ones I had. It was actually pretty warm and sunny (low 80s) out, and I ended up getting sunburnt on my arms. Nothing too bad. I was wearing jean capris and they were so uncomfortable in that heat because they were sticking to me and felt tight. I vowed to find some other kind of pants to wear this summer because jeans are unbearable in 80+ degree weather. Maybe I'll start wearing leggings with long tank tops? Or maybe I'll get some spandex shorts and just wear dresses and skirts? I've got to keep myself cool and comfortable this summer, even if that means I look like Fiona from Shrek when I wear dresses (I do - same body type).
After the brewery, we went to lunch at a seafood place where we enjoyed raw oysters on the half shell and she-crab soup for appetizers. We were seated outside, but then some freakishly heavy rain swept through and we had to move inside. We both haven't eaten inside a restaurant since the pandemic started, so we were kind of nervous. Luckily, the restaurant was not busy at all and no one was even remotely near our table and all the staff had masks on. I've also had my 2 doses of vaccine, but Nick hasn't gotten his yet. I've looked and looked for appointments, but they're all booked up.
After lunch, we went to a nearby Old Navy for Nick to shop and use his birthday gift cards. He found several shirts and I got several soft tank tops.
After that, we went home and crashed because we had spent such a long day out. We were very glad to be back home with our kitty, Ollie.
Yesterday was very low-key, we just went to the grocery store and then stayed in watching movies. We watched Monster's Ball, which we have seen, but had forgotten how depressing it is. Nick made his homemade pizza for dinner and it was delicious!
Today is Nick's actual birthday, so happy 33rd birthday to him!
