It's been a minute since I've updated, so here goes:
In September, I saw Lana Del Rey in concert with my bff, Brittany. It was a dream to see someone I admire so much in person. Her voice sounded amazing live, and seeing her in person made me see what a sweet, beautiful personality she has. Brittany and I had a great time and it was sooo much fun. I sang along to every song and took so many pictures and videos. Life MADE.

The pet painting class with my mom and sister Angel was so much fun. Behold my masterpiece of my kitty, Ollie:

In October, we celebrated Nick's grandmother's 78th birthday. I can't believe his grandparents are getting close to their 80s. I hope we still have much time left with them, but you never know. His grandmother is still very with it mentally and physically. Her older sister is doing just as well at 89, which bodes well for her longevity. Nick's grandfather, on the other hand, has already survived prostate cancer and a triple heart bypass, so who knows how long we have with him. Anyways!

A few weeks later, we got word that L, Nick's brother, was having hallucinations and delusions again. He believed an Asian man was watching his mom's house and he was convinced two men were casing his grandparent's house (where he lives). Unfortunately, he ended up getting arrested for repeatedly calling 911. He was released the next day and his mom took him to the hospital where a drug test revealed cocaine and Adderall in his system. Sigh. We are at a loss as to how to help him because he has no health insurance, so rehab places won't take him and private places are too expensive. IDK...

I celebrated my 35th birthday on 11/3, which was a Friday. I insisted on Nick doing his usual thing of going out so I could enjoy my birthday in peace at home alone, which I did lol. That may sound depressing, but it was perfect for me. The next day, he FINALLY took me to a vineyard/winery, my first one ever (despite me going to literally every brewery in the state). It was a beautiful fall day, so we sat outside, sampling flights of wine. It was very fun!
We celebrated again with family the following weekend. My sister Angel turned 41 on the 14th, so we have combined birthday celebrations now as we figured we're too old to have entirely separate parties lol. We chose to go to a relatively new steakhouse, and boy, was it an amazing meal. We had Japanese fried chicken, shrimp cocktails, extra dirty martinis, red wine, ribeyes (medium RARE), fries, and lobster tails. Oh, it was all so, so good! We then went home to my mom's for cake and presents. Nick and I then promptly fell asleep in our recliners like old farts lol.
We went to the lakehouse the next day to celebrate with Nick's family. We were worried as we had heard that L, Nick's brother (the one with the Adderall/cocaine addiction), had gone out with friends the night before. His family refused to give him money for a hotel because we all know that money would go to drugs, so we weren't sure where he slept. While he was physically present with us, he was not mentally present. He was withdrawn and not himself. Nick and him had alone time out on the dock (the grandparents live on a lake), and L revealed that he doesn't want to quit taking Adderall, despite the obvious detrimental affects on his life. Addiction is wild.

That's pretty much it. It's the Friday before Thanksgiving and I'm so ready for a break from work!
